Immigrant Law Practice Area
The Immigration Law Practice Area is maintained by the Minnesota Legal Services Coalition (MLSC) and the Immigrant Legal Advisers Alliance (ILAA).
The Immigration Law Practice Area is directed toward immigration practitioners in Minnesota, North and South Dakota. The goal of the Practice Area is to support and improve the legal representation of area residents in immigration matters, particularly those of low-income clients. The Practice Area concentrates on issues of immigration practice which are uniquely local and regional in nature. Through the use of technology, the Immigration Practice area seeks to compile and maintain information regarding local immigration practice, increase communication among stakeholders, and increase the capacity of those serving the immigrant community.
Immigrant Legal Advisors Alliance (ILAA) is an alliance of non-profit legal service organizations providing representation to low-income persons in Minnesota and North Dakota on immigration issues. Its mission is to enhance and increase available legal services and legal service awareness for low-income immigrants in Minnesota and North Dakota. Member organizations include Centro Legal, Inc., Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, Legal Assistance of North Dakota, Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights, Minnesota Legal Services Coalition, Legal Services of Northwestern Minnesota, Mid-Minnesota Legal Assistance, and Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services.
