Housing Expungement Workshop

Topics:
  • Expungements

Opportunity for experienced volunteer attorneys and paralegals to work with low income clients looking to have housing evictions (unlawful detainers) expunged from their records.

Volunteer attorneys and paralegals are asked to come to this three hour workshop where they will draft expungement motions and IFP affidavits for pre-screened, low income clients who live in Hennepin County. Following the meeting, pro bono attorneys will file the applications with Hennepin County Housing Court and plan to represent clients at their expungement hearing. Legal Aid staff attorneys will mentor and supervise volunteers as needed.

Every 6 hours of pro bono service equates to 1 general CLE credit, up to a total of 6 credits.
