For the first hour, Ryan LeCount, Assistant Professor of Sociology at Hamline University, will analyze implicit bias and its potential manifestations in legal settings.

In addition, attendees will learn about concrete approaches they can take to overcome their implicit bias as well as how they can address implicit bias when clients or colleagues direct it against them.

Ethics

For the second hour, Craig Klausing, Senior Assistant Director at the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility, will present on proper ethical considerations in pro bono legal contexts. He will walk participants through several quandaries that may arise during a pro bono case and will discuss the proper ethical responses for pro bono professionals and volunteers.
