In March 2017, The Advocates for Human Rights led a delegation to conduct human rights advocacy before the United Nations. Pro bono attorneys Lisa Borden, Matthew Forsgren, Margaret Grieve and Mark Petty will discuss their experiences traveling to Geneva to advocate before the Human Rights Council, treaty bodies and special procedures. Panelists will describe how they used U.N. human rights mechanisms to enforce international legal standards related to women's rights, the death penalty, torture, racial discrimination, and the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as the impact of their work.
