One of the ways for a claimant to be disabled under the Social Security Administrations regulations is by meeting or equaling one of the Listing of Impairments. Recently, Section 12.00 of the Listings, containing all listings involving mental disorders, was revised on January 17, 2017. The revisions reflect program experience, advances in medical knowledge, recommendations from a commissioned report, and public comments received in response to a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). Facilitator and Social Security law practitioner Kirk Thompson will present the new listings, discussing new provisions and their impact on SSDI law practice. Additionally, questions and group discussion will be facilitated.
