Staff from the DHS Licensing Legal Office will give an overview of due process relating to maltreatment investigations, background study disqualifications and licensing actions and sanctions. The speakers will provide an overview of the appeals processes applicable for each of these determinations, including administrative reconsideration, fair hearings, and contested case hearings. Consolidation of appeals for decisions rendered by county agencies and the Minnesota Department of Health will also be addressed.
