New Law Series: The New Veterans Court – What You Need to Know

A new Veterans Court was launched July 1st in Hennepin County to address the special needs of veterans in the criminal justice system. Patterned after drug courts and mental health courts, the new Veterans Court will attempt to blend appropriate punishment with needed treatment. Panelists will address the genesis of the court, its purpose, the experience of the court to date, and the practical mechanics of access and use of this new resource.
